This place is 20 kilometres far from the nearest village. And the nearest villiage is 50 kilometers of offroad from the nearest asphalt. Here are some photos from this abandoned soviet military station and from the road up there.

| Shadows of the past |
Asylum "T" was built in the early 20th century as state lunatic asylum of Brandenburg. It was also used as military hospital during both world wars; and after 1945 parts of it were occupied by the Soviets. Today, there is still an active psychiatric hospital in the neighbourhood, but the former soviet buildings are left to decay.

| Submarine channel |
A huge system of tunnels, filled with water - bringing to mind somewhat apocalyptic images; this once was the ultimate secret Soviet nuclear submarine base, maintenance & repair facility. So secret it was, in fact, that the whole town around it was classified and erased from the map.
Ten kilometers east of Sevastopol on the Black Sea Coast, the town of Balaklava was closed to the rest of the USSR, and even family members needed special clearance to visit there. After collapse of the Soviet Union the base stayed operational only until 1993, when all nuclear warheads were removed - and in 1996 the last submarine left the base. Today the place is open to visitors, but the bulk of it is hidden.

| Abandoned Antonov aeroplane |
This army station was in use for nearly 50 years, giving home to numerous Soviet fighter planes of the well-known Mig aeroplane family. On average, 40 Mig-s were stationed here. The flight crew and the staff with their families lived in small flats situated nearby the base. This arrangement formed a small, closed community, separated from the rest of the area. After the Soviets left the airport, most of the old structures were demolished. Luckily, some service blocks. equipment, a fire truck and a lonely Antonov aeroplane somehow still survived.
